OUR STORY

The SS Omrah was an iron hulled steamship that regularly crossed the equator between the United Kingdom and Australia in the early 1900s. The first Australian port on its journey was Albany, in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

One early passenger paid homage to his trans-oceanic voyage by naming his property in the Great Southern region after the SS Omrah.

Vines were planted on the property and many moons later this fruit was used for our maiden vintage of Chardonnay in 1989.
